"ANAGAT"

 " ANAGAT " the word itself has very deep and depth meaning. But I don't want to revel the  exact meaning of ANAGAT in the very beginning. But First of all, I would like to give  the interpretation for this word-ANAGAT in the words of the author-Harindra Dave, ANAGAT means.............

   " પ્રેમ પણ જીવનની માફક પાત્ર હેઠળના દીવા જેવો છે: એ પાત્ર હેઠળ જે કઈ છે એ અનાગત છે. પાત્ર ઉંચકો તો દીવો રાણો થયો છે કે હજી ટમટમે છે તેનો ખ્યાલ આવે પણ આપણે અનાગતના ભયથી એ પાત્રને ઉંચકતા ડરીએ છીએ."

 

The very beautiful and with the meaning of meaninglessness, with the best concept of the creation,  the author Harindra Dave gives the best novel - "Anagat". It has not only story, but also life of them, to whom with you are introduced and may be also visited in your own life. As Quasimodo says........

                                                     "In vain you search in the dust;

                                                      Poor hand, the city is dead! "

 The whole story depicts the fear of life that , what will hapeen, if we have further life ? The author Harindra Dave gives the best idea of absurdity and  how the circle of life is going on. The novel has three main characters are..... Alok-Protagonist of the novel, Kristin Walverth-Heroine of the novel and Manjari-Sub-heroine of the novel. There are also some important and notable characters are Jamna, Mahervan, Pilu, Chhanalal (Chhanalal is a person, for whom we can say that - HUMAN LIVES IN PAST AND IS ACTING IN PRESENT), Shyavksh, Garudi and many other minor characters plays important role in the novel.

 In our life we all must have to play a 'Mono Act' if we want to tell  or to  revel the truth. Harindra Dave gives the very effective and impressive line through the novel - "Anagat" that........

 "સત્યને છુપાવી શકાય - પણ સત્યને છડેચોક પ્રકટ કરવું હોય ત્યારે નાટક કરવું પડે છે. ભાગ્યે જ કોઈમાં આવું નાટક કરવાની હિમ્મત હોય છે."    

             

The novel starts with the deeper and fearful concept that, Alok knows that may be this last 48 hours of his life, is the last 48 hours of his life,  but the tragedy is that, even you and I,  don't know that what's the moment will be the last moment of our life! As Garudi says to Alok that.....

"બાબુ, જિંદગી બહુ વ્હાલી છે? તમને ૪૮ કલાકની જિંદગી મળી છે - અમારું તો કોણ જાણે? એક ક્ષણ પછીય આવરદા પૂરી થાય. આવી જિંદગી ભાગ્યશાળીને જ મળે."

The novel reflects the best quonotation  of the alternative changes of not only human life, but also the constant changes of whole the world that......

 "રાત્રે પોતે સુતો હતો ત્યાં જ જાગ્યો છે કે કેમ એની વિમાસણમાં એ આસપાસ જોઈ રહ્યો."

And author puts the best line in the middle of the novel that.....

 "સાહેબ, હવે દુનિયા બદલાઈ ગઈ. દિલવાળા માણસો ન રહ્યા. પહેલા લોકો દારુ પીવા આવતા ત્યારે દારુ પીને દુનિયાને ભૂલી જતા. હવે દુનિયાને છેતરવા માટે લોકો દારુ પીવે છે. એ પીનારાઓ પણ ગયા. આ ગામમાં બધા જીવ વિનાના માણસો રહે છે. આખું પીપ ગટગટાવીને ચેનથી ગપ્પા મારતા માણસો જોયા છે: હવે તો એકાદ ગ્લાસમાં માંસ એલફેલ બોલવા લાગે છે...."

   

 What's the meaning of agony, which is  within, what's the result may be come out from the aloneness and the cruelty of ocean of 'Urad' that, ......

"જોખમી? નાં રે- આમ ને આમ ચાર ફ્લાર્ગ સુધી ચાલ્યા જાઓ- માત્ર ગોઠણ સુધી નું પાણી. આપઘાત કરવા ગયા હો તો આટલું ચાલો ત્યાં વિચાર બદલાઈ જાય ......."

Think yourself :- How do you feel if the person is not living suddenly with you, with whom you have got too much anger and also have told to that one, please, never come in front of me! and the moment comes to the very next that, that one person is not alive. There is two different side of the self hatred that Remorse and Repent. And only because of this repent, one can never alive. In this moment, death is also not able to satisfy the human soul and that's why, suicide is also not answer, Because............

"સાગરના ખારા પાણી એના શ્વાસોની નળીમાં ધીરે ધીરે વહેતા થશે, એ રૂંધાતા શ્વાસે પ્રાણ ને વિદાય આપશે, એ પહેલા શું શું નહી થાય? પગમાં દરિયાના જીવોએ નીચેની રેતીમાં કરેલી આકૃતિઓનો ભીનો ખૂંચતો સ્પર્શ એની ચેતનાને બધીર બનાવી રહ્યો હતો......"

As we all know that, the beauty and the charm of something or someone can never be die. But it's also reality that the soul can not be able to stay forever! And only because of this harsh reality of life, the village "Urad" is also losses the soul of it's beauty, as writer says........

                       "હા.......ગામ મજાનું છે; પણ હવે એનો જીવ જતો રહ્યો છે-"

We can find the best concept of the life of second bank,  the understanding level , the truth of truth,  the worthy to note that, in one or other way we all are cheating our selves, and feelings , and how feelings plays the biggest role in the human life, which is totally absurd, as in the last it has no meaning , because the single and only truth and fact of life is - "Death". 

As  we can find in the novel that.....

"જે મૃત્યુની તરફ જઈ રહ્યું છે એ જ તો જીવન છે. જે ક્યાંય નથી જતું એ કદાચ જડતા જ ન હોય?"

There comes a time in our life, where we find that,  how beautiful world will be creates for us, if we have covered that moment for a life long. But at this surface level, we forgets that........

"બહારના લય પામી રહેલા, નિષ્પ્રાણ બની રહેલા વાતાવરણમાં આ માણસ અંદરથી જીવતો હતો. બીજા કોઈ જીવંત વાતાવરણમાં આ માણસ કદાચ કઈ નું કઈ બની ગયો હોત."

       The very important thing is that , how many times we are dying in our single life? Because only the death of body is not only death. Here I remembe one famous shayari that...........

                        "સાંસો કે સિલસીલે કો નાં દો જિંદગી કા નામ;

               જીને કે બાવજૂદ ભી મર જાતે હૈ કુછ લોગ! "

  We can imagine the confidence level of trust from the words of Alok that......

 "તમે કોણ છો એ હું ન જાણું, તમે કેવા છો એ વિશે હું તદ્દન સ્પષ્ટ છું. કોઈના અંગત જીવનમાં રસ લેવો એ ભદ્ર માણસનું લક્ષણ નથી, પરંતુ આ શરાબના ઘૂંટથી તમને કેફ નથી ચડતો-માત્ર તમારી આસપાસનું ઉદાસીનું પારદર્શક વાતાવરણ એથી વધુ ઘેરું બને છે. એની પારદર્શક્તા ઘટે છે."

 And as Kristin says......

"તમે જોઇને દુખી થયા, આલોક. એમને એ માણવાનું હતું....એ મને ચાહતા હતા... મારા રૂપ પર દુનિયામાં કોઈ જોઈ ન શકે એવા સ્થળે કુદરતે વિકૃતિની મહોર મારી છે. એ મારી સાથે રહેતા અને દુખી થતા."

When we are doing something wrong or something different, which may become the reason of someone's pain, we comes in the guilt consciousness from within. We all know that, that must not be happened, but what's the matter of that, which is already exist!

Harindra Dave  puts the question in front of us that, what LOVE exactly it is? because there is the biggest question is that, whether there is love is exactly exist or not! And if there is love exist then from whom and why and if that is love, then why we are doing such kinds of actions in our life. Or the matter  maybe  is that, we have no idea for that particular idea for that - "What is LOVE? "As Kristin says.......

"હું જે લાગણી અનુભવું છું એને પ્રેમ કહેવાય કે કેમ એ પણ હું જાણતી નથી..... પ્રેમ એટલે ચોક્કસ વાતાવરણ સાથેનો કરાર. પણ એ વાતાવરણ સાથેનો કરાર. પણ એ વાતાવરણ તરફ ન જવા જેટલા સજાગ આપણે બંને હતા, અને સજાગ માણસો પ્રેમ નથી કરી શકતા,આલોક! સજાગ માણસો જીવી પણ નથી શકતા!"

         

 Harindra Dve puts the second important question in front of us that, what will happen, if we have got the the exactly solution of our life? Untill we get the idea of our life or the perfect reason of our life, we have the charm of our life, as it is said that........

               "ગુંચ જીવનની જ્યારે ઉકેલાઈ જાય છે,    

          માત્ર દોરાઓ જ હાથ માં રહી જાય છે!"

There is always two ends of our life.

 (1) Reality and (2) Fact. And the last wish of Alok has thrilled to Kristan that.......

" આલોક અસહ્ય વેદના વચ્ચે આથી આ શબ્દો બોલી રહ્યો છે, પણ આલોકની છેલ્લી વિનંતિએ એને ખળભળાવી દીધી. આ પ્રેમની કબુલાત હતી? સ્પર્શની ઝંખના હતી? કે માત્ર અનુકંપાનો વિસ્તાર જ હતો?"

 

And the absurdity of life is reflects through two or three wonderful quotes of Harindra Dave, these are...........

 - "કોઈક ક્ષણ વીતી જાય, પછી એ ક્ષણ ન આવી હોય તો કેટલું સારું થાત એવું થાય છે..."

- "હરેક ઘડીએ ઓગળતા આઈસબર્ગ પર ઉભેલો આજનો માણસ કઈ મીનીટે એને દરિયામાં ડૂબી જવું પડશે એની જ વાટ જુએ છે....."

Harindra Dave puts the novel with the open end and the horrified and thrilling and fearful thought of the Kristin that.......

" મૃત્યુ પામતા માણસની ગમે તેવી ઈચ્છા પાર પાડવી જોઈએ, આલોક, પણ માનો કે તમે .........."

"માનો કે તમે જીવી ગયા તો.....

 In short, we can say that...

through the novel - ANAGAT , Harindra Dave gives the best idea of thinking and the perfect way of thinking that how, not only human action, but also the destiny is connected to the human life and the fate and reality plays the most important role in the human life.

 We can also conclude here that, 

 through the open ended novel-ANAGAT, author wants to ask us the very important and answerless question that.........."Why we are living?"  And the  biggest  question more than this is  that........"Whether we are living or not ?"
